Good example here of how over-doing it can ruin a perfectly good piece. The foundations of this were solid, colours and letters were decent (with the possible exception of the ‘R’ and second ‘Y’, which are a bit awkward). But at some point that all got lost because I kept fucking with it. The blue over-shapes were definitely a step too far but I didn’t have any of the dark purple left to fix it at that point. Also a good example of what makes traditional pieces so difficult. It’s not hard to do a ‘fine’ traditional piece, but it is hard to do a really good one. Balance and composition is everything.
