Get Busy! Is not an award-winning multi-disciplinary design studio.
It’s just a guy called Chris squinting at a laptop somewhere, chewing the end off a pencil.
I am primarily a graphic designer but I also do all kinds of other things โ I’ve been painting on walls for over 20 years, I take photos, publish zines, sell small run t-shirts, paint portraits, entertain myself with marketing campaigns for products that may not exist. I do a bit of everything.
I’m not interested in ‘minimal viable product’, I’m not interested in ‘well, that’s the way we’ve always done it’. I’m interested in ideas. Good, exciting, cool ideas. I like working with people who aren’t afraid to stand out, switch things up, and do something wild โ because they’re able to trust their gut feeling over a spreadsheet. I have been accused of being “too creative” โ I could not invent a more complimentary criticism if I wanted to (and I’m an award-winning copywriter).
In the past few years I have self-published my second book (Allez Les Blues), given talks on mental health, creativity, and typography. Hosted workshops teaching hand lettering and street art. Worked as a photographer at This Morning Live, The Ideal Home Show and Grand Designs Live, and art directed photo shoots for visual artists I admire. I collect some of this stuff in a rather nice zine called ‘Pretty Good’ which I publish every three months (you can find them in my shop, I’ll post you one for free if you like).
I hope you enjoy poking around the site, if you need a copy of any of my portfolios for my art or design work, they can be downloaded from the big red button below. Alternatively, drop me a message using the form underneath if you want to get in touch, I’m always up for a chat.
All the best,
C.
